Run for Mukhanyo Richmond

Run for Mukhanyo Richmond Monday, October 8, 2018. This year was the Eight annual Run for Mukhanyo Richmond. Last year, more than 100 students and their families came together to run and to give generously to the students of Mukhanyo Christian Academy (MCA), in the Mupulanga region of South Africa. MCA provides its students with classical schooling, meals, and other basic needs. The school was founded as a joint venture between South African and American Christians, including some from within the Richmond and Veritas School Community. MCA currently has 63 students enrolled in six grades and is growing every year. Last year, the Richmond run was able to raise $16,000. Together with our sister run at Trinity School in Durham, North Carolina, we raised $30,000, and with those funds MCA was able to purchase additional classrooms and four flushable toilets. These additional classrooms allowed the school to raise enrollment to their current 63 students. This year, as in previous years, the Run for Mukhanyo in Richmond, Virginia, will be held on Columbus Day—Monday, October 8, 2018. Children ages 4 to 16 will come together to run as many laps as they are able to run in one hour. All participants are encouraged to solicit donations from sponsors such as neighbors, friends, and family. Each participant will be given a water bottle to collect coins and cash donations and through this site can set up a personal fundraising page to raise online donations. Our goal this year is to continue Richmond’s generous support of Mukhanyo Christian Academy. Your support and contributions are greatly appreciated. You can make a difference in the lives of children at the Mukhanyo Christian Academy by supporting one of the children registered to participate in the Run, or by making a general donation
